Eritrean Resilience and Commitment to Regional Peace Cannot be Compromised.

The Ethiopian PM and his sycophants, it seems, have decided to commit the ultimate act of betrayal against the Government and people of Eritrea. The blatantly delusional propositions camouflaged as “mutually beneficial” are nothing less than a reckless and belligerent violation of Eritrea’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. Their frantic and incessant public relations campaign is meant to hide their nefarious and illegal intentions. The Prime Minister’s behavior is certainly unbecoming of a Nobel laureate for peace. A warmonger does not deserve such a coveted award and should have, therefore, been rescinded. One can safely surmise that the motive for the reckless behavior of the inept leadership in Addis is to divert attention from the internal economic and political disaster that the prosperity party is responsible for. Needless to say, Ethiopia has descended into a failed state as a result of the megalomaniacal and narcissistic character of Abbiy Ahmed. His bravado, provocative statements and duplicitous language are meant to mask his untenable agenda.

The resilient and courageous people and government of Eritrea, unfazed by the relentless provocations and media campaign from Ethiopia, continue to focus on and pursue the priorities of their national agenda : sustainable economic development, social justice and regional economic and political cooperation. The prosperity party leadership has left no stone unturned to contaminate the minds of the Ethiopian people through relentless social media manipulation and a barrage of revisionist historical narratives by its historically illiterate party cadres, ministers and generals. One hopes that the people of Ethiopia will not be easily hoodwinked because at this particular historical conjecture, they are obligated to mount a strong resistance against the irresponsible and pugnacious attitude of the leadership in Ethiopia. Moreover, they should remain appreciative of the selfless and admirable intervention by the government and people of Eritrea when their country was in a dire situation and on the verge of disintegration.

It is evident that based on their intentionally distorted historical and political narratives, the Ethiopian PM, his prosperity party and emotionally unstable media pundits have tried to explore and exhaust every legal and historical option to advance their expansionist dream and sinister plan. Having failed miserably in this effort, they were forced to resort to subterfuge and threaten the sovereignty and territorial integrity of a nation and, thereby, potentially wreak havoc on the political and economic stability of the region. It is beyond the scope and intention of this brief article to delve into and analyze the historical and legal arguments in defense of Eritrea given the fact that the sovereignty, economic and political viability and revered regional and international status are indisputable.
